TGR | 27 November 2023 |
Happy holidays from The Genocide Report! Tis the season of giving… and Giving Tuesday is November 28. First, we want to thank all of our supporters! The Genocide Report (TGR) has been around since 2011. For more than a decade we have been supported by people like YOU! We value your contributions because they allow us to continue to serve some of the most vulnerable populations around the world.
At The Genocide Report, we believe that the greatest gift on earth is people. In our work, nearly everyone we meet is fighting a difficult battle and they need us. And we need people like YOU to help us, help people in need. It’s a partnership.
In the coming year, TGR will launch two projects that we have been working on for a while: a scholarship program and a fund to help displaced populations around the world, and we need YOUR help.
Educational Scholarships for Resettled Refugees
TGR will launch $1,000,000 in educational scholarships for resettled refugees in the U.S. These scholarships will cover full-ride undergraduate education. The scholarships will also be available for graduate education, as well as trade school education.
TGR’s foundation is grounded in education, and we are so excited to see these scholarships become a reality!
The Witness Project
The Witness Project will benefit people displaced by conflict and persecution, natural disasters, and climate crises. There are more than 114 million displaced people around the globe. One component of this project will allow us to give 1 million Hope Boxes to displaced populations around the world. Our larger vision is to put a Hope Box in every displaced person’s hands on the planet.
Hope Boxes are filled with items to sustain individuals for 5 days. The kits include – a fleece blanket, mylar blanket, sleep mat, reusable water bottle, emergency water, food items, soap, laundry powder, toothbrush, tooth powder, first aid kit, menstrual hygiene management including disposable pads, reusable pads, and a purpose cloth.
There is a secondary component to The Witness Project that is still in the works that will make more benefits available to displaced populations. More information to come in the months ahead.
Giving Tuesday
Your donation means everything for these projects! From #GivingTuesday through December 31, supporters may contribute to The Genocide Report through the Give platform. TGR happily accepts donations year-round!
Contributions are 100% Tax Deductible!
TGR is a registered 501c3 public nonprofit organization, so your donation is 100% tax deductible. At TGR your privacy is safe. TGR will never sell our donor lists. We respect your privacy, and we are so incredibly grateful for your contributions.
As you prepare for the holiday season, we hope that you will consider donating to The Genocide Report. No contribution is too small.
Your Support Matters and Is Making a Difference!
Somewhere in the world today a child is struggling to survive… a mother’s heart is broken over the loss of a child due to war and conflict, food insecurity, sickness, and natural disasters. Somewhere in the world today there is a father gravely concerned with how to provide for his family. The cost of forced displacement and humanitarian relief deficiencies in countries like Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Myanmar, Gaza, Ukraine, and so many others, is extreme human suffering, and it is being felt by the most vulnerable.
Please consider supporting the work of The Genocide Report and give today.
Not all of us can do great things, but each of us can do small things that are great and can impact the world.
